The organising team would like to thank all participants for their contributions to the challenges this year and the many discussions on how to annotate and identify small molecules. The CASMI2014 contest will be summarised in a single paper and published in late 2015 or in early 2016.

The winners have been chosen based on submissions for challenges 1-42.

Category 1: Team Lars Ridder

Three teams had the same number of challenge wins, with 34 of 42 formulas correctly ranked first. We congratulate the teams of Arpana Vaniya, Felicity Allen and Lars Ridder. To break the tie, the overall winner is Lars Ridder as he provided two additional correct solutions ranked as second in his submission.

Special commendation goes to Tomas Pluskal who had the correct molecular formula for most challenges (38 out of 42), ranked between 1 and 12.

The post-contest evaluation also including the challenges 43-48 confirms the winner Lars Ridder (40 of 48), followed by Felicity Allen (38 of 48) and Arpana Vaniya (36 of 48).

Category 2: Team Felicity Allen

The submission of Felicity Allen and team had the most challenge wins (29 entries with the correct structure ranked highest of all participants, of 42 challenges) and thus is the winner of Category 2. They had 24 molecular structures ranked as first in their submissions. Congratulations!

The post-contest evaluation also including the challenges 43-48 showed that only Lars Ridder and Felicity Allen had a hit among the unknown. They got the correct structure for challenge 47, ranked 2nd and 6th, respectively.
